Our Life of Prayer

/ About / Our Life of Prayer

As an Order of the Eastern Catholic Church, we are formed in its tradition, discipline and spirituality and by the writing of St. Basil and the other Eastern fathers. We praise God in the Divine Liturgy, in the Divine Office (the liturgical prayer cycle of the Church, which includes Matins and Vespers), and in a personal prayer life. Our lives of personal prayer are integrated with our communal prayer as we celebrate the liturgical day and the festal cycle of the Eastern Church.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Prayer League

The aim of the Prayer League is to: foster devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, to support in prayer the apostolic works of the Sisters of St. Basil, and to encourage vocations to the community.
Members are asked to: enroll at Mount St. Macrina, make the annual Pilgrimage to the Mount, if possible) or join in spirit and prayer with the pilgrims during that time); celebrate the feasts of the Mother of God in some special way; spread devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help; unite in prayer using the Mary, Full of Grace, Our Hope prayer book; and, to pray for the renewal of our Byzantine Catholic Church.

Among the spiritual benefits are: a Divine Liturgy offered monthly for the members of the League; a Divine Liturgy offered for the intentions of the living members of the League during the annual Pilgrimage; a Divine Liturgy offered for the deceased members of the League during the post-festive time of the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God; a share in the prayers and good works of the Sisters; and, a copy of the prayer book, Mary, Full of Grace, Our Hope.
