Home + Vocations + Reflect On Your Spiritual Journey
Do you feel perhaps that you are being called to live a life of consecrated life, living the vows of: Poverty – We freely take the vow of poverty in order to faithfully imitate Christ and to profess that he is the Son who receives everything from the Father and gives everything back to the Father in love and in the unity of the Holy Spirit. “For your sake he made himself poor though he was rich, so that you might become rich by his poverty.” (2 Cor. 8:9) Chastity – We live consecrated chastity, witnessing to the reality of the Heavenly Kingdom. Consecrated chastity enables a radical and universal love, drawn from the contemplation of Trinitarian love as it is revealed to us in Christ. Obedience – “To do your will, O my God, is my delight and your law is in my heart.” (Ps. 40:8-9) We vow obedience, totally dedicating our will to the will of the Father, through His Son, as revealed to us through the Holy Spirit. A time of serious discernment is an important aspect in responding to this call. Discernment is a process, enabling one to listen deeply within to discover the spiritual path to which one is being called and assists in recognizing the spiritual gifts in our lives.
